SHS School Based Clinic Information

We are a fully functioning medical clinic located below the media center. All staff are employed by the City of Minneapolis Health Department. We offer a range of services from acute care, sports physicals, mental health care, nutrition visits, STI testing and treatment, reproductive health care, health education and more! We provide services to students regardless of insurance status, and at no cost to families. Interpretive services are provided. We are here every day, and all services are confidential.

Students and families can reach us by calling the main clinic number 612-688-4333 or by walking into the clinic (Room 122) Monday through Friday, 8:00-4:00pm. We also continue to work with the school support teams to accept referrals on an ongoing basis.

No cost

We do not want cost to be a barrier for students to access our services.

  • No clients will be turned away based on insurance status.
  • We do not charge clients or their parents for any medical services received in our clinics.
  • Only mental health clients who have private insurance will be requested to pay copays and deductibles.
  • If insurance does not cover the cost of the service, we will not bill you.

Confidential

Privacy matters. We follow all Health Privacy (HIPAA) requirements. We know that sometimes being in school adds another level of concern. Your business stays in the clinic.
