Welcome to the Health Office

Mission: To promote and support student achievement, health and well-being.

Should I send my child to school today?
Minneapolis Public Schools follow the guidelines developed by the epidemiologists at Hennepin County Community Health Department when deciding if a student should be kept home or sent home from school.

A child should not come to school (and will be sent home from school) if they have or have had:

  • a fever of 100 degrees or more in the past 24 hours
  • vomiting or diarrhea in the past 24 hours
  • an undiagnosed skin rash
  • untreated head lice

Please notify the Health Office if your child has a contagious condition such as chickenpox, strep throat, whooping cough (pertussis) or head lice.
